The Museum of Brands in London is a really cool place! It shows you how the things we buy and use have changed over time. You can see products from the Victorian era (a long time ago!) all the way to today.

A Journey Through Time: The Museum's Story
The Museum of Brands has a huge collection of over 12,000 items. These items come from the Robert Opie Collection. This collection used to be in a museum called the Museum of Advertising and Packaging. That museum was in Gloucester Docks from 1984 until 2001.
Then, the collection moved to Notting Hill in 2005. The museum is quite popular, with more than 40,000 people visiting every year!

The museum has more than 12,000 original items. These include everyday things like old packaging, cool posters, fun toys, and classic games.
The Time Tunnel Experience
The museum is set up like a "Time Tunnel." This means you walk through history in order. You'll see how brands have changed over 200 years. It's amazing to see how simple things were in Victorian times. Then you see how they became more modern and fancy today.
The Time Tunnel also shows how shopping has changed. You'll learn about the impact of transportation and media. It even shows how world wars affected products. You can also see how women gained more freedom over time.
Special Exhibitions and Events
The museum often has special shows and talks. These events explore how brands are important in history and today's world. For example, in 2020, they opened an exhibit called 'When Brands Take a Stand.' This show looked at how brands get involved in social issues. These issues include things like gender equality and human rights.
Museum Facilities and Growth
The museum has a nice cafe where you can grab a snack. There's also a garden area to relax in. You can even rent parts of the museum for parties or meetings.
The museum first opened in Colville Mews in 2005. Since then, many more people have visited. It got so popular that it needed a bigger space! So, in September 2015, it moved to the London Lighthouse Building. This new building is on Lancaster Road.
Supporting the Museum
Many different companies have helped the museum. Some of its first supporters include big names like DS Smith, Diageo, Kellogg's, Cadbury, Twinings, Vodafone, and McVitie's.
In 2015, the World Branding Forum helped the museum's education program. This meant the museum could offer great learning experiences. Over 10,000 students visited for educational sessions in 2014.
