My Little Pony: A Very Minty Christmas is an animated movie that went straight to DVD. It was made by SD Entertainment and came out on October 25, 2005. Paramount Home Entertainment released it. This film was the first time the My Little Pony toy characters appeared in a movie since their first big film in 1986. The DVD also came with an extra episode called Dancing in the Clouds. This episode was first released on video in 2004 with a toy called Star Catcher.
A Very Minty Christmas was once available online on hubworld.com. This website was a follow-up to Hasbro's MonkeyBarTV site. Other My Little Pony movies like My Little Pony: The Princess Promenade and My Little Pony Crystal Princess: The Runaway Rainbow were also there. However, these films were later removed from the site.
The TV show Friendship Is Magic became very popular. This made people want to see the older My Little Pony movies again. Because of this, Shout! Factory started releasing some of these older titles on DVD. A Very Minty Christmas was one of the movies they re-released.
The movie first aired on television on Discovery Family on December 13, 2014.

Discover the Story: What Happens in the Film?
In A Very Minty Christmas, a pony named Minty accidentally breaks the "Here Comes Christmas Candy Cane." This special candy cane is supposed to guide Santa Claus to Ponyville. Minty feels bad about what she did. To try and fix things, she gives each pony one of her socks. She hangs them like stockings on their fireplaces.
When Pinkie Pie finds out about Minty's plan, Minty realizes giving socks might not be the best idea. So, she decides to go to the North Pole herself to make things right. Minty is not very good at flying balloons. This leads to a chase as her friends try to save her while also trying to save Christmas!

Minty is the main character of the movie. She is an earth pony with a mint green body and a pink mane and tail. Her special mark, called a cutie mark, is three swirled mint candies. Minty loves anything green and enjoys collecting socks. She also likes to stand on her head and play checkers with Sweetberry. Minty is known for being a bit clumsy. She often trips, crashes into things, and accidentally breaks them.

Pinkie Pie is an earth pony with a pink body and a light pink mane and tail. Her cutie mark shows three balloons. Pinkie Pie is very imaginative, friendly, and loves to have fun. Sometimes, she even takes charge in different situations. She loves planning big parties and anything pink. Pinkie Pie can also be a bit sarcastic at times. She enjoys spending time with Minty, even though Minty is clumsy.

Star Catcher loves to make friends with everyone, especially Skywishes.

She met Star Catcher, a Pegasus pony, after finding the Rainbow Waterfall and Butterfly Island. For a while, she was the only pony who knew the secret of the Pegasus Ponies.
Bonus Feature: Dancing in the Clouds
The DVD for A Very Minty Christmas includes a second animated story called Dancing in the Clouds. This story was first released on a VHS tape with a Pegasus pony toy named Star Catcher. The events in Dancing in the Clouds happen after A Charming Birthday and before Friends are Never Far Away. It shows how Star Catcher and Skywishes first met each other.
