Mya-Lecia Naylor (born November 6, 2002 – died April 7, 2019) was a talented English actress, model, and singer. She was well-known for her roles in popular CBBC shows. She played Fran in the series Millie Inbetween and Mya in Almost Never.
Early Life and Family
Mya-Lecia Naylor was born on November 6, 2002, in Warwickshire, England. She lived in South Norwood in London with her parents, Zena and Martin Naylor.
Mya-Lecia had three younger siblings: Ellis, Oscar, and Angel. Her brother Ellis was also an actor. She attended Royal Russell School and Coloma Convent Girls' School.
Mya-Lecia's Acting Career
Mya-Lecia started her television career in 2004. Her first role was as Jane in Absolutely Fabulous. In 2011, she played Tati in Tati's Hotel. She also appeared in an episode of Cartoonito Tales as Little Red Riding Hood.
In 2012, Mya-Lecia was in two episodes of The Last Weekend. She also appeared in the film Cloud Atlas as Miro. She continued acting in films like Code Red (2013) and Index Zero (2014).
From 2014 to 2018, she became widely known for her role as Fran in the CBBC series Millie Inbetween. In 2015, she played Samantha Reasonable in a radio play called Mr Reasonable. Her last major role was in 2019, playing Mya in the CBBC musical drama Almost Never.
Besides acting, Mya-Lecia was also a member of a band called Angels N' Bandits.
Passing Away
Mya-Lecia Naylor passed away on April 7, 2019, at the age of 16. Emergency services were called to her home, and she was later pronounced dead at Croydon University Hospital.
A coroner's investigation looked into the cause of her death. In September 2019, the assistant coroner concluded that Mya-Lecia did not intend to end her life. Her death was ruled as an accident.
A memorial service for Mya-Lecia was held at Our Lady of The Annunciation Catholic Church in Croydon on May 19, 2019.
