Myck Lukusa Kabongo (born January 12, 1992) is a former professional basketball player. He is from the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Canada. Myck now works as an assistant coach and player development coach. He coaches for the Salt Lake City Stars in the NBA G League.
Myck played college basketball for the Texas Longhorns. He also played for the DR Congo national team in international games. He was part of the team at AfroBasket 2017.

High School Basketball Journey
Myck Kabongo started his high school basketball career in Toronto. He played at Eastern Commerce Collegiate Institute. Later, he moved to St. Benedict's Prep. For his senior year, he transferred to Findlay Prep in Henderson, Nevada.
Myck was a top player in his class. Experts like Scout.com and ESPNU ranked him highly. He was chosen to play in two big games:

- 2011 Jordan Brand Classic
Choosing a College Team
Myck decided to play for Texas on his 17th birthday in 2009. He changed his mind briefly in 2010. But just five days later, he confirmed his choice and signed with Texas.

College Basketball Career
Myck began playing for Texas in the 2011–12 season. In his second year, he faced a suspension. This was due to rules about contact with agents. His suspension was later shortened to 23 games.
He returned to play in mid-February. In 11 games, he averaged 14.6 points per game. In April 2013, Myck decided to enter the NBA draft. This meant he would not play his final two years of college basketball.
Professional Basketball Career
Myck Kabongo was not chosen in the 2013 NBA draft. He then joined the Miami Heat for the 2013 NBA Summer League. He later signed with the San Antonio Spurs but was waived before the season started.
He then played for several teams in the NBA Development League (now called the NBA G League):

- Fort Wayne Mad Ants (2014)
- Texas Legends (2015)
- Erie BayHawks (2015–2016)

- In South Africa for the Cape Town Tigers (2021–2022).
- In Canada for the Scarborough Shooting Stars (2023–2024). He won a championship with them in 2023.
National Team Play
Myck Kabongo played for the DR Congo national basketball team. He played in AfroBasket 2017. In that tournament, he was one of the best players in:

- Steals per game (2.8)
He was also invited to try out for Canada's national team in 2013.
Amateur Basketball
Myck played for a team called Overseas Elite in The Basketball Tournament. This is an annual competition. In 2015, his team won the tournament's $1 million prize!
Coaching Career
On October 4, 2024, Myck Kabongo started a new role. He became an assistant coach and player development coach. He works for the Salt Lake City Stars in the NBA G League.
Personal Life and Family
Myck Kabongo was born in Lubumbashi, Zaire (now the Democratic Republic of the Congo). He has four brothers and one sister. His brother, Emmanuel Kabongo, is an actor. His sister, Vanessa, played college basketball at the University of Delaware. In 1998, Myck and his family moved to Toronto, Canada.
