Early Life and High School Football
Myjai Sanders grew up in Jacksonville, Florida. He first attended William M. Raines High School. Later, he moved to Camden County High School in Kingsland, Georgia. This move happened before his junior year of high school.
During his senior year, Myjai was a standout player. He made 39 tackles, which means he stopped the opposing team's ball carrier many times. He also had three sacks, which is when a defensive player tackles the quarterback. He was recognized for his skills and named to the Coastal Georgia All-Area team. After high school, Myjai chose to play college football at Cincinnati. He picked Cincinnati over offers from other well-known schools.
College Football Career at Cincinnati
Myjai Sanders started his college football journey at Cincinnati. In his first year, he played in ten games. He was a reserve player, meaning he wasn't a starter but played when needed. He recorded seven tackles during this freshman season.
In his second year, Myjai became a starter for the team. He had a great season, finishing with 40 tackles. He also made seven tackles for loss, which means he stopped the ball carrier behind the line of scrimmage. He also recorded four sacks. As a junior, Myjai was named a semifinalist for the Chuck Bednarik Award. This award goes to the best defensive player in college football.
