Myrzageldy Kemel (Kazakh: Мырзагелді Кемел; Russian: Мырзагельды Кемел; born January 15, 1949 – died July 18, 2020) was a well-known writer, politician, and professor from Kazakhstan. He served as a member of the Supreme Kenges (a type of parliament) from 1994 to 1995. Later, he was a member of the Mazhilis, which is the lower house of Kazakhstan's parliament, from 1995 to 2004. He wrote ten books, mostly about spirituality. His most famous book was called Mind Pocket.

Myrzageldy Kemel's Life Story
Myrzageldy Kemel was born on January 15, 1949. His birthplace was the Maktaaral District in what was then the Chimkent Oblast. Today, this area is known as the Turkistan Region in Kazakhstan.
Early Life and Education
In 1971, he finished his studies at the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers. He specialized in making sure electricity reached farms in rural areas. After graduating, he became the director of a Sovkhoz. This was a large farm owned by the government. He worked in this role from 1975 until 1992. During this time, he was also a member of the Communist Party. He served in the local government, which was called the Soviet.
Becoming a Politician
In 1994, Myrzageldy Kemel was chosen to be a deputy in the Supreme Kenges. A deputy is like a representative who helps make laws. However, the first election result was later canceled by Kazakhstan's Supreme Court.
In 1995, he ran for election again. This time, he became a deputy in the Mazhilis. The Mazhilis is an important part of the Parliament of Kazakhstan. He served in this role for many years, until 2004.
Further Studies and Teaching
Myrzageldy Kemel continued his education even while working. In 2000, he earned a law degree from Dulati Zhambyl University. Then, in 2004, he received a PhD in economics. A PhD is a very high academic degree. After his studies, he became a professor. He taught at the Academy of Public Administration, which is connected to the President of Kazakhstan.
A Talented Writer
As a professor, Myrzageldy Kemel wrote many academic papers. He published over 100 scientific articles. He also started two magazines in Kazakhstan. These magazines were called World and Ecology and Sustainable Development.
Books on Spirituality
Beyond his academic work, he was also a popular author. He wrote ten books that focused on spirituality. These books explored ideas about inner peace and wisdom. Some of his well-known titles include Mind Pocket, Alphabet of Abzaldyk, and Lessons for Myself. His book Mind Pocket was especially popular.
His Passing
Myrzageldy Kemel passed away on July 18, 2020.
