Mystic is an exciting TV show from Britain and New Zealand. It's a teen drama that focuses on environmental themes. The series was created by Amy Shindler and Beth Chalmers. It's based on the popular Pony Club Secrets books by Stacy Gregg. The first book was called Mystic and the Midnight Ride.

The story of Mystic takes place in a beautiful, made-up place called Kauri Point in New Zealand. It follows a girl named Issie Brown. She makes new friends with other teenagers who love horses. Together, they work to protect Kauri Point from a big building project that could harm the area. Macey Chipping stars as Issie. The show first aired in the UK on CBBC and BBC iPlayer on July 14, 2020. After its first season, Mystic was so popular that it was renewed for two more seasons!

How Mystic Was Made

Making a TV show takes a lot of work! Here's a look at how Mystic came to life.

In October 2018, a group called NZ on Air decided to help fund Mystic. They provided money for 13 episodes, each about 28 minutes long.

The people who found the actors for the show were Gilly Poole, Suzanne Crowley, and Tina Cleary. In March 2020, it was announced that Macey Chipping would play Issie Brown. Laura Patch would play Issie's mother. Many talented New Zealand actors also joined the cast.

Filming for the series began in Auckland, New Zealand, in January 2020. However, filming had to stop for a while because of the COVID-19 pandemic. New Zealand went into a lockdown to keep everyone safe. Macey Chipping even went back to the UK temporarily. Eight episodes were finished before the lockdown, and the remaining five were completed later during the pandemic. After the first season aired, fans were excited to hear that Mystic would have a second and third season!
