The Story of Nacaome
Nacaome is a very old city. It was founded a long time ago, even before the Spanish arrived. Two groups of native people, the Cholulas and the Chaparrastiques, used to fight. They decided to stop fighting and work together.
They built new homes in the middle of their lands. This new town was on the west side of the Chapulapa River. This river is now called the Nacaome River. They named their new town Naca-Ome. This name means "union of two races" in their languages. In the Nahuatl language, Naca means "race" or "body," and Ome means "two."
