Her Life Story

Nadine Lhopitalier was born in Saint-Quentin, France. She never knew her father. When she was 14, she left her mother's home. She started working in a Peugeot factory.

At 16, she became a model for the painter Jean-Gabriel Domergue. He was a very social person. He helped her get into the world of theater and movies. In 1952, she began acting. She used the name Nadine Tallier. She acted in many roles from 1952 to 1964.

In 1962, she married Edmond Adolphe de Rothschild. He was part of the French branch of the Rothschild family. At that time, Edmond was in charge of the Edmond de Rothschild Group. This was a private banking company in Geneva, Switzerland.

Nadine was raised Roman Catholic. But she decided to convert to Judaism. She felt it was important to share the same faith as her husband and their future children. Their son, Benjamin de Rothschild, was born in 1963.

After her husband passed away in 1997, Nadine de Rothschild became an author. She wrote books about good manners and etiquette. One of her books is called Le Bonheur de Séduire l'Art de Réussir. She also wrote her autobiography, La baronne rentre à cinq heures. In 2004, she opened the Nadine de Rothschild International Way of Life Academy in Geneva.
