Najwa Nimri Urrutikoetxea is a well-known Spanish actress and singer. She was born on February 14, 1972. Najwa is famous for her roles in both movies and TV shows. She also has a successful music career.
In 1996, Najwa started a music group called Najwajean with producer Carlos Jean. They released an album called No Blood. This was one of the first trip-hop albums in Spain. Her first big movie role was in Jump into the Void in 1995. She quickly became a popular actress in Spanish cinema during the 1990s and 2000s.
Some of her early film roles include Passages (1996) and Open Your Eyes (1997). Later, she became very popular for playing villain roles in TV shows. These include the crime dramas Locked Up and Money Heist.

Najwa Nimri's mother is from Pamplona, Spain. Her father, Karam Nimri, is from Jordan. She has a brother named Karim and two half-sisters, Sara and Nadia. She also has a half-brother named Andre. Her cousin, Alexander Nimier, is also a singer.
When Najwa was a child, her family moved to Bilbao. Now, she lives in Madrid.
Acting and Singing Career
Najwa's first main movie role was in Salto al vacío. This film was directed by Daniel Calparsoro. She was married to Daniel Calparsoro from 1995 to 2000.
She started her singing career in small music groups. In 1996, she formed the band Najwajean with Carlos Jean. Besides her work with Najwajean, she has also released several solo albums.
Najwa received praise for many of her film roles. She played Ana in Lovers of the Arctic Circle, directed by Julio Medem. She also starred alongside Eduardo Noriega in movies like Abre los ojos and El método.
In 2018, she was nominated for a Goya Award for Best Actress. This was for her role as Lila Cassen in the movie Quién te cantará.
Recent TV and Film Work
In 2020, Najwa returned to her role as Zulema in the spin-off series Vis a vis: El Oasis. She starred in this show with Maggie Civantos. She also played Alicia Sierra, a police inspector, in the popular series La casa de papel.
Najwa has also lent her voice to video games. She voiced Kate Laswell in the 2019 game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. In 2023, she joined the second season of the horror series 30 Coins. She played Haruka, a character who hunts paranormal beings.
