Nancagua (pronounced naŋˈkaɣwa) is a city and a commune in Chile. It is located in the Colchagua Province within the O'Higgins Region.

Nancagua is a place where many people live. It is both a city and a commune, which is like a local district. It's part of the larger O'Higgins Region in Chile.
Size and Population
Nancagua covers an area of about 111.3 square kilometers (about 43 square miles). According to a 2002 census, Nancagua had 15,634 people living there.
- Out of these, 7,959 were men.
- And 7,675 were women.
Most people (about 59.3%) lived in the city areas. The rest (about 40.7%) lived in the countryside. Between 1992 and 2002, the number of people living in Nancagua grew by 8.5%.
How Nancagua is Governed
As a commune, Nancagua has its own local government. This government is run by a municipal council.
The Alcalde
The leader of the commune is called an alcalde. The alcalde is chosen by the people in an election every four years. The current alcalde, serving from 2021 to 2024, is Mario Bustamante.
