Nansen Island is an island located in Antarctica. It is also known as Isla Nansen Sur. This island is the largest one found in Wilhelmina Bay, which is off the west coast of a region called Graham Land. Nansen Island is about 6.4 kilometers (4 miles) east of Emma Island.

Discovering Nansen Island

Nansen Island was first found by the Belgian Antarctic Expedition. This expedition took place between 1897 and 1899. The team was led by a person named Adrien de Gerlache.
