Naoya Kondo (近藤 直也, Kondo Naoya, born 3 October 1983) is a Japanese former professional footballer. He played as a defender. Kondo played for teams like Kashiwa Reysol, JEF United Chiba, and Tokyo Verdy. He also played one game for the Japan national football team.

Playing for Clubs
Kondo was born in Utsunomiya, Japan, on October 3, 1983. He joined the J1 League club Kashiwa Reysol in 2002. He started playing more often in 2003. By 2004, he became a regular player in the center-back position.
From 2005, Kondo faced many injuries. This meant he could not play in many matches. He became a regular player again in the middle of 2009. However, Reysol's team moved down to the J2 League at the end of the 2009 season.
In 2010, Kondo played in almost all 34 matches. He only missed two games because of a suspension. Reysol won the championship in the J2 League that year. They returned to the J1 League after just one year.
In 2011, Reysol won the championship in the J1 League. This was a big achievement for the team. Kondo was also chosen for the Best Eleven award that year. This award goes to the best players in the league.
From 2012, Reysol continued to win. They won the 2012 Emperor's Cup and the 2013 J.League Cup. However, Kondo played less often from 2014 onwards.
In 2016, he moved to JEF United Chiba. This team was also in the J2 League. He played as a regular center-back for three seasons there. In 2019, he moved to another J2 club, Tokyo Verdy.
Kondo stopped playing professional football in December 2020.
Playing for His Country
Kondo was part of the Japan national under-20 football team. He played in the 2003 FIFA World Youth Championship. This big tournament was held in the United Arab Emirates.
On February 24, 2012, Kondo played his first game for the main Japan national football team. This match was against Iceland.
