Naples is a small, unincorporated community in Boundary County, located in the very north of Idaho, United States. An unincorporated community means it's a place with a shared identity but without its own local government.

Naples is about 11 miles (18 km) south of the city of Bonners Ferry. It's also about 23 miles (37 km) north of Sandpoint. You can find it along U.S. Routes 2 and 95, right in the Rocky Mountains. It's quite close to the border between the U.S. and Canada. The ZIP Code for Naples is 83847.

History of Naples

Naples got its name from the famous Italian city, Naples. Many workers from Italy came to this area around 1890 to help build the first railroad line. They named the community after their home city.

The area around Naples is known for its natural features like Caribou Ridge and Ruby Creek. A notable historical event, sometimes called the Ruby Ridge standoff, happened about 8 miles (13 km) from Naples in 1992.
