Narcao is a small town in the Sardinia region of Italy. In the local Sardinian language, it is called Narcau or Nuracau. Narcao is a comune, which is like a municipality or a local government area in Italy.

This town is located on the island of Sardinia. It is about 40 kilometers (25 miles) west of Cagliari, which is a big city in Sardinia. Narcao is also about 15 kilometers (9 miles) east of Carbonia.

Narcao shares its borders with several other towns. These include Carbonia, Iglesias, Nuxis, Perdaxius, Siliqua, Villamassargia, and Villaperuccio.

History of Narcao

Narcao has a long history. In a part of Narcao called Terraseo, you can find old ruins. These are the remains of a temple from ancient times.

Ancient Temple Remains

The temple found in Terraseo was built by the Punics and later used by the Romans. It was dedicated to a goddess named Demetra. Demetra was an important goddess in ancient Greek and Roman religions. She was known as the goddess of harvest and agriculture.

Twin Towns

Narcao has special friendships with other towns around the world. These are called "twin towns" or "sister cities." It means they share cultural ties and often visit each other.
