Narran County is a special type of land division in New South Wales, Australia. It's one of 141 such areas. Think of it like a historical way to divide up land for mapping and record-keeping.

This county is located in the northwestern part of New South Wales. It shares a border with Queensland to the north. On its western side, you'll find the Culgoa River. The Narran River forms its eastern boundary. To the south, it's bordered by the Barwon River.

Narran County includes the town of Goodooga. It also covers the area just north of Brewarrina.

Rivers of Narran County

Narran County is home to several important rivers. Besides the Narran and Culgoa rivers, the Bokhara River also flows through this area. Goodooga town is actually located on the eastern bank of the Bokhara River.

These three rivers – the Narran, the Bokhara, and the Culgoa – are all branches of the larger Balonne River. They each flow separately into the Barwon River. A very important geographical point is where the Culgoa River joins the Barwon River. This meeting point marks the official start of the famous Darling River.
