Natalie Lowe (born August 15, 1980) is a famous Australian ballroom dancer. She has won the Australian ballroom dance championship four times! Natalie became well-known for competing on TV dance shows. She won Australia's Dancing with the Stars with her partner Anthony Koutoufides. Later, she joined the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing in the UK. She was a professional dancer on Strictly for seven seasons, leaving after the 2016 show.

Early Life and Dance Beginnings

Natalie Lowe grew up in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Her family lived right next door to a ballroom dance studio. When she was only 5 years old, Natalie started taking dance lessons. She watched her older brother and sister dance and wanted to join in. Natalie worked hard and became a four-time Australian ballroom dance champion.

In 2004, Natalie joined the TV show Dancing with the Stars in Australia. She danced with famous people like athlete Matt Shirvington and rugby player Ian Roberts. Dancing on Strictly Come Dancing

In 2009, Natalie became a new professional dancer on the British show Strictly Come Dancing. Her first partner was actor Ricky Whittle. The judges were very impressed with them. Head judge Len Goodman even said they might be the strongest couple Strictly had ever seen! Natalie and Ricky finished in second place.

In 2010, Natalie danced with Scott Maslen. They made it to the semi-finals of the competition. Natalie returned for the 2011 show, partnering with champion boxer Audley Harrison. They were the sixth couple to leave. In 2012, her partner was former England cricket captain Michael Vaughan, and they finished 7th.

Natalie was set to return in 2013, but she hurt her foot during practice. Another dancer, Aliona Vilani, took her place. Natalie came back for the 2014 series, dancing with TV presenter Tim Wonnacott. In 2015, Natalie won a special Comic Relief show called The People's Strictly with a veteran named Cassidy Little. She also danced with celebrity chef Ainsley Harriott in the main show. They were eliminated in the fifth week. Natalie danced with Cassidy Little again in the 2015 Christmas Special.

Her last series was in 2016, where she partnered with Olympic long jump champion Greg Rutherford. On May 4, 2017, Natalie announced that she was leaving Strictly Come Dancing after being on the show for seven series.

Other Dance Projects

Starting in 2005, Natalie joined the cast of a ballroom dance stage show called Burn the Floor. She toured with this show for five years, performing in many places. In March 2013, Natalie helped create FitSteps. This is a fitness program inspired by dance. She started it with fellow Strictly dancer Ian Waite and former Strictly contestant Mark Foster.

Natalie's Personal Life

In October 2015, Natalie Lowe shared that she was engaged to James Knibbs. James is a company director. Natalie first met James when they were sitting across from each other on a train to London. Natalie and James got married in July 2018. In December 2019, Natalie gave birth to their baby boy, who they named Jack.
