Natalya Venediktovna Lisovskaya (born on July 16, 1962) is a famous Russian athlete. She used to compete for the Soviet Union. Natalya was a champion in the sport of shot put. This sport involves throwing a heavy metal ball as far as possible.

Natalya Lisovskaya was born in a place called Alegazy. She became one of the best shot putters in the world. She trained very hard in Moscow to achieve her goals.

Natalya Lisovskaya won a gold medal at the 1988 Summer Olympics. This big event took place in Seoul, South Korea. Winning an Olympic gold medal is one of the highest honors for an athlete.

Setting a World Record

Natalya also holds the world record for the women's shot put. She threw the shot put an incredible 22.63 meters (about 74 feet, 3 inches). She achieved this amazing feat on June 7, 1987, in Moscow, Russia. This record still stands today! She also has the three longest throws ever made by a female shot putter.

Life After Competing

After her successful Olympic career, Natalya Lisovskaya continued her life in France. She even competed in some local events there between 1999 and 2002.

Natalya is married to Yuriy Sedykh, who was also a world record holder in hammer throw. They have a daughter named Alexia. Today, Natalya and her family live in Paris, France.
