National Chung Cheng University, often called CCU, is a big public university in Minxiong Township, Chiayi County, Taiwan. It's a place where students go to learn and do research after high school. CCU is known for its focus on research and higher education.

History of CCU
National Chung Cheng University was created after Taiwan had a big period of economic growth in the 1980s. The government wanted to improve higher education in the Yunlin, Chiayi, and Tainan areas. So, in 1986, they decided to build a new university in Chiayi.
This new university was designed to be very strong in research. It was named after Chiang Kai-shek, an important leader in Taiwan's history. The university officially opened its doors on July 1, 1989. Lin Ching-Jiang was the first president, leading the university in its early years.

CCU is divided into seven main areas of study, which are called colleges. Each college focuses on different subjects. The main library, the National Chung Cheng University Library, is also located on the campus in Minxiong.
