This historic area in Chippewa Falls includes 33 old buildings. They were built between 1873 and 1943. You can see different styles of architecture here. For example, there's the First National Bank, built in 1873, which looks like an old Roman building. Many other buildings from the 1880s have an Italianate style, with fancy decorations. There's also the Caesar Harness Shop from 1890 and the Federal Building from 1908, which has a grand Neoclassical look.

This four-story brick building in Chippewa Falls was a shoe factory. It was built in 1910 and made shoes and boots until 1974. At its busiest, about 175 people worked here, making 1,500 pairs of shoes and boots every day! This factory was very important for the town's economy, especially as the lumber industry started to slow down. It's the only shoe factory from that time that is still standing.

The Hotel Chippewa is a three-story brick building in Chippewa Falls. It was built in 1915 and served as a hotel for people traveling by train. When it was built, it was very modern! Each room had a telephone, and it had iron fire escapes for safety.

L.I. Roe House

This large home in Stanley was built in 1892 and made even bigger in 1906. It belonged to L.I. Roe, who was an immigrant from Norway. He was a very important person in Stanley. He worked as a clerk for the Northwestern Lumber Company, was the first president of the Citizen's State Bank, and even ran a factory that made wood products. He also served as the president of the school board.
