Contents
Navo was founded in 1847 by a person named Thomas Navo, and the community was named after him. For many years, it was a small but active place.
Early Days and Growth
From 1884 to 1907, Navo even had its own post office. This was important for people to send and receive mail. In the mid-1930s, Navo had a population of 36 people. This number stayed about the same until the late 1980s.
Changes Over Time
For a long time, Navo had a grocery store and a gas station. These were important places for the community. In 2000, the population was 35. However, the area around Navo has been growing a lot. New communities, like Paloma Creek, have appeared nearby. Paloma Creek is now located where Navo used to be. The town of Little Elm has also grown and taken over much of the land around Navo.
Even though Navo is no longer a separate community, its name lives on. You can still find the Navo Fire Station and Navo Road in the area.
Students in the Navo area attend schools within the Denton Independent School District. There is even a school named after the community. Navo Middle School serves many students from the surrounding areas.
