Naz Aydemir Akyol, born on August 14, 1990, is a famous Turkish volleyball player. She plays as a setter, which is a key position in volleyball. Currently, she plays for Eczacıbaşı Dynavit and the Turkey women's national volleyball team.
Naz has won many big championships throughout her career. She has won the Turkish League nine times. She also has four CEV Champions League titles and three FIVB Club World Championship titles. She even played for Turkey in the 2012 and 2020 Summer Olympics.

Naz Aydemir's Volleyball Career
Naz Aydemir has played over 200 games for Turkey's national volleyball teams at all levels. She has also played in the Women's CEV Champions League for 16 seasons. This is a huge achievement! She even reached the final four of the CEV Champions League 10 times in a row.
She started playing for senior club teams in the 2004–05 season. As captain, she led Turkey's youth team to a silver medal at the 2007 World Championship. In 2008, she helped the junior team win a bronze medal at the European Championship. She was even named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) for that tournament!
Winning the CEV Champions League
Naz Aydemir won the CEV Champions League two years in a row. First, in the 2011–12 season with Fenerbahçe. Then, in the 2012–13 season with Vakıfbank. She also won the "Best Setter" award in both of these championships.
In the 2016–17 season, Naz won another CEV Champions League gold medal with VakıfBank. Her team beat Imoco Volley Conegliano in the final. She was once again named the "Best Setter" for her amazing performance.
Club World Championships
Naz won her first FIVB Women's Club World Championship gold medal in 2010. She was playing for Fenerbahçe at the time. Fenerbahçe was the first Turkish team ever to win this big championship.
She won her second gold medal at the 2013 Club World Championship. This time, she was playing with Vakıfbank. Vakıfbank became the second Turkish team to win this important club championship. She later won her third Club World Championship with Vakıfbank in 2017.
Taking a Break and Returning
After playing for Vakıfbank Istanbul for six years, Naz took a break from volleyball. This was because she was expecting a baby. After her child was born, she returned to her old club, Fenerbahçe Opet, for the 2019–2020 season.
Naz Aydemir was chosen for the FIVB Roster 100. This list includes 100 of the most important volleyball players between 2010 and 2020. She was one of only six female setters on this special list.
Personal Life
Naz Aydemir has a famous cousin, İlkay Gündoğan. He is a footballer who plays for Manchester City and the German national team.
On August 21, 2013, Naz Aydemir married Cenk Akyol. Cenk is also a sports star, playing for the Turkish national basketball team and Galatasaray. On November 6, 2018, Naz and Cenk welcomed their son, Pamir.
