Ned Lake is a natural freshwater lake found in Winter Haven, Florida. It's also sometimes called Lake Ned. This lake covers about 72 acres, which is a pretty large area! It has an interesting, slightly uneven shape. The main part of the lake looks like an oval, and then there's a rounded cove (a small, sheltered bay) on its southeast side.

Discover Ned Lake
Ned Lake is surrounded by homes on its south, southwest, northwest, and north sides. On the east side, you'll find the Street Nature Center, which is a lovely wooded area covering about 42 acres.
Exploring the Lake's Edges
While Ned Lake doesn't have any public swimming areas, there are still ways to enjoy it! On the northwest side, along Lake Ned Road, you can find a small park. This park is a great spot for a picnic, as it has a few picnic tables. It also has a public boat ramp, which means you can launch your boat there.
The Street Nature Center
The Street Nature Center is located on the east side of Ned Lake. This special place is owned and managed by the National Audubon Society. The Audubon Society is a group dedicated to protecting birds and their habitats.
At the heart of the Nature Center is an old house that was built in 1912. The property was given to the Audubon Society in 1970, and the Center officially opened its doors in 1973.
What You Can Do There
The Street Nature Center is a busy place! It hosts meetings about conservation, which means discussions on how to protect nature. It's also a popular spot for student field trips. Kids can visit to learn about the local environment. The Center even has its own small boat ramp, but this one is just for private use.
Fish in Ned Lake
If you enjoy fishing, Ned Lake is home to several types of fish. According to the Hook and Bullet website, you might find largemouth bass swimming in its waters. You could also catch bluegill and crappie here.
