Nedra Talley (born January 27, 1946), also known as Nedra Talley-Ross, is an American singer. She is famous for being a member of the girl group The Ronettes. In this group, she sang with her cousins Ronnie and Estelle Bennett. After Ronnie's passing in 2022, Nedra Talley is the last original member of The Ronettes still with us.

Nedra Talley's Music Journey

Joining The Ronettes

Nedra Talley was part of The Ronettes for ten years. She and Estelle Bennett left the group in 1967. One reason for their departure was related to the group's producer, Phil Spector. He later married Ronnie Bennett.

A New Path in Music

Nedra Talley shared that she became a Christian when she met Scott Ross, who would become her husband. This was a big reason why she decided to leave The Ronettes. She felt there wasn't much room for Christian-inspired music in the group.

In 1977, Nedra recorded several Christian songs. These songs were written by Ted Sandquist, her church's music director. They were released on an album called The Courts of the King: The Worship Music of Ted Sandquist. A song medley from the album, "Love of My Lord" / "Redwood Tree," was also released as a single. The guitarist Phil Keaggy played on some of the songs. This album was later released on CD for its 30th anniversary.

In 1978, Nedra Talley recorded her own solo album, Full Circle. This album featured contemporary Christian music. Phil Keaggy played music on this album too. Keaggy even wrote the title song, "Full Circle." Nedra's husband, Scott Ross, produced the album. The album's cover included a photo of Nedra and Estelle Bennett with The Beatles' John Lennon and George Harrison. The Beatles were big fans of The Ronettes. This album has not been re-released since.

Nedra Talley also sang background vocals on an old folk song called "Follow the Drinking Gourd." This song was part of a four-disc collection by Roger McGuinn called The Folk Den Project (1995–2005).

In 2007, The Ronettes were honored by being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Nedra Talley's Personal Life
