Nelson Efamehule Agholor (born May 24, 1993) is a professional football player. He is a wide receiver for the Baltimore Ravens in the National Football League (NFL). Nelson was born in Nigeria and moved to the United States as a child. He played college football at the University of Southern California (USC). The Philadelphia Eagles chose him in the first round of the 2015 NFL draft. He won a Super Bowl with the Eagles in Super Bowl LII. He has also played for the Las Vegas Raiders and the New England Patriots.

Early Life and High School
Nelson Agholor was born in Lagos, Nigeria. He moved to the United States when he was five years old. He went to Berkeley Preparatory School in Tampa, Florida. There, he played many positions for the Berkeley Buccaneers football team. He played as a running back, wide receiver, and defensive back.
Experts at Rivals.com thought he was a top player. They ranked him as the third-best wide receiver in his group. In January 2012, he decided to play college football at the University of Southern California.
College Football Career
Nelson Agholor started playing for USC in 2012 as a first-year student. He played in all 13 games as a backup wide receiver. He caught 19 passes for 340 yards and scored two touchdowns.
In 2013, during his second year, he became a starter. Agholor started all 14 games. He caught 56 passes for 918 yards and scored six touchdowns. Besides being a top receiver, he also returned punts and kicks. He returned 18 punts for 343 yards and two touchdowns. He also returned 10 kickoffs for 175 yards. Many sports groups named him a second-team All-American for his great punt returns.
Agholor continued as a starter in his third year, 2014. He led his team with 104 catches for 1,313 yards. He also scored 12 touchdowns. After this successful season, Agholor decided to enter the 2015 NFL draft. This meant he would not play his final year of college football.
Professional Football Career
Philadelphia Eagles
First Seasons (2015–2016)
The Philadelphia Eagles picked Nelson Agholor in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft. He was the 20th player chosen overall. On May 7, 2015, he signed a four-year contract with the team.
On December 13, he scored his first NFL touchdown. It was a 53-yard catch from quarterback Sam Bradford. This happened in a game against the Buffalo Bills. In his first year (2015), Agholor played in 13 games. He had 283 receiving yards and one touchdown. In his second year (2016), he played in 15 games. He gained 365 receiving yards and scored two touchdowns.
Super Bowl Win (2017)
In 2017, Agholor changed his jersey number from 17 to 13. He gave number 17 to a new teammate, Alshon Jeffery. This season was much better for Agholor. He played as a slot receiver, which means he lined up closer to the center of the field.

On September 10, 2017, he scored a 58-yard touchdown from quarterback Carson Wentz. This was in the first game of the season against the Washington Redskins. He finished that game with six catches for 86 yards. He scored another touchdown in Week 2 against the Kansas City Chiefs. By the end of the 2017 regular season, he had more receiving yards and touchdowns than his first two seasons combined.
The Eagles made it to Super Bowl LII against the New England Patriots. Agholor had a great game, catching nine passes for 84 yards. The Eagles won the game 41–33. This was their first Super Bowl championship ever!
Later Eagles Seasons (2018–2019)
In 2018, the Eagles decided to keep Agholor for the 2019 season. In the first game of 2018, he made his first NFL pass. It was a trick play to Nick Foles for 15 yards. This play helped the Eagles score a touchdown. In the next game, he scored his first receiving touchdown of the season. He had eight catches for 88 yards against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. His best game that season was against the Houston Texans. He caught five passes for 116 yards and a touchdown. Overall in 2018, he had 64 catches for 736 yards and four touchdowns.
In Week 2 of 2019, Agholor caught eight passes for 107 yards and a touchdown against the Falcons. Later in that game, he had a chance to catch a pass that could have won the game. However, he had trouble seeing the ball because of the stadium lights and dropped it. The Eagles lost that game. In Week 3, he caught eight passes for 50 yards and two touchdowns against the Detroit Lions. For the 2019 season, Agholor finished with 39 catches for 363 yards and three touchdowns.
Las Vegas Raiders (2020)
On March 25, 2020, Agholor signed a one-year contract with the Las Vegas Raiders. He worked hard in training camp to earn a starting spot. He was named the fourth wide receiver on the team's depth chart.
He played his first game for the Raiders in Week 1 against the Carolina Panthers. He caught one pass for a 23-yard touchdown in their win. When another player got injured, Agholor became a starter in Week 4. He caught four passes for 44 yards and a touchdown against the Bills. In Week 5, he had a 59-yard touchdown catch against the Chiefs. In Week 7, he gained 107 yards and a touchdown against the Buccaneers. He also had 100 yards and a touchdown against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 14. In Week 16, he had a huge game against the Miami Dolphins. He caught five passes for 155 yards, including an 85-yard touchdown. Agholor finished the 2020 season with 48 catches for 896 yards and eight touchdowns.
New England Patriots (2021–2022)
On March 19, 2021, Agholor signed a two-year contract with the New England Patriots. In his first game with the Patriots, he caught a touchdown pass from Mac Jones. He finished the 2021 season with 37 catches for 473 yards and three touchdowns.
In Week 2 of the 2022 season, Agholor had a great game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He caught six passes for 110 yards and a touchdown. He finished the 2022 season with 31 catches for 362 yards and two touchdowns. This was his lowest number of catches since his first year in the NFL.
Baltimore Ravens (2023–Present)
On March 24, 2023, Agholor signed a one-year contract with the Baltimore Ravens. He started in Week 1 but did not catch any passes. In Week 2, he caught five passes for 63 yards and a touchdown against the Cincinnati Bengals. He had a season-high 64 yards in Week 5 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
In Week 7, he caught a 12-yard touchdown pass against the Detroit Lions. His next touchdown came in Week 11 against the Cincinnati Bengals. It was a 37-yard catch after the ball was tipped. His final touchdown of the regular season was in Week 16 against the San Francisco 49ers. Agholor finished the 2023 season with 35 catches for 381 yards and four touchdowns.
In the playoffs, he caught two passes for 12 yards and a touchdown against the Houston Texans. On February 18, 2024, Agholor signed a new contract to stay with the Baltimore Ravens.
