What is a Hamlet?
A hamlet is a very small settlement. It is often even smaller than a village. In Alberta, a hamlet is a community that is not officially incorporated as a town or village. This means it doesn't have its own local government. Instead, it is governed by a larger regional authority.
Special Areas in Alberta

This board acts like a local government for these areas. It helps with things like roads, land use, and services for the people living there. These Special Areas were created long ago to help manage land that was difficult to farm.
