Jerome Young (born January 3, 1963 – died May 14, 2021) was an American professional wrestler. He was best known by his ring name New Jack.
New Jack became very famous during his time with Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW). He was known for his exciting and risky wrestling style. He often took big chances during his matches. A unique thing about New Jack was that his entrance music, "Natural Born Killaz" by Ice Cube and Dr. Dre, would play throughout his entire matches in ECW. After ECW closed in 2001, New Jack continued wrestling for smaller companies until he passed away in May 2021.

New Jack's Early Life
Jerome Young was born on January 3, 1963, in Greensboro, North Carolina. When he was five years old, his father died. After that, he and his mother moved around a lot in Georgia.
Young went to several different schools. He graduated from Atlanta's D.M. Therrell High School in 1981. He was good at football in high school, which helped him attend Clark Atlanta University. Later, he worked as a truck driver and then as a bounty hunter for ten years.
Young learned how to wrestle from Ray Candy. He started his wrestling career in 1992 in Memphis, Tennessee. This was with a company called the United States Wrestling Association (USWA). He chose the ring name New Jack, which was inspired by the 1991 movie New Jack City. In June 1993, he won his first championship. It was the USWA World Tag Team Championship with his partner Homeboy. They held the title for two weeks.
