Newcastle (sometimes called New Castle) is a small community in Iron County, Utah, United States. It is known as an unincorporated community, which means it doesn't have its own local government like a city does. It's also a census-designated place (CDP), which is an area the U.S. Census Bureau defines for gathering population data.
Newcastle is located in southwestern Iron County. It sits along State Route 56. The community is about 30 miles (48 km) west of Cedar City. Its elevation is around 5,312 feet (1,619 meters) above sea level. Newcastle has its own post office and a ZIP code of 84756. In 2010, the population was 247 people. Newcastle was started in 1910 by people from a more isolated place called Pinto.
The main religion in Newcastle is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Members of this church were the first to settle the area.
