Newcomb (which in Navajo is called Bis Deezʼáhí) is a small community in San Juan County, New Mexico, United States. It's known as a census-designated place (CDP), which means it's a special area defined for gathering population data. In 2020, about 494 people lived there. Newcomb is part of the larger Farmington area.
Newcomb has a cool history! It was started way back in 1887. Two people, Joseph Wilkin and Henry Noel, set up a trading post there. For a while, from 1903 to 1919, it was known by a different name: Crozier. Newcomb is also located along the Trails of the Ancients Byway, which is a special road in New Mexico known for its beautiful scenery and historical sites.

In 2000, there were 387 people living in Newcomb. These people lived in 123 households, and 84 of those were families. The community had about 65 people per square mile.
Most of the people living in Newcomb are Native American. There are also some White residents and a small number of people from other backgrounds. A small percentage of the population is Hispanic or Latino.
Many households in Newcomb have children under 18 living with them. The average household had about three people. The community has a mix of ages, with many young people and adults.
Education
Students in Newcomb attend schools run by the Central Consolidated Schools district. This school district also serves other communities in the western part of San Juan County.
