The Story of Newk's Eatery
Newk's Eatery started in 2004. It was first called Newk's Express Café. A father and son, Don and Chris Newcomb, created it. Their very first restaurant opened in Oxford, Mississippi. Before Newk's, the Newcombs had also started another restaurant chain. It was called McAlister's Deli. They later sold that business.
A New Look for Newk's
In 2013, the company changed its name to Newk's Eatery. They also updated their logo. This gave the restaurant a fresh new look.
Growing Bigger
In 2014, a company called Sentinel Capital Partners bought Newk's. This company helps businesses grow. They saw that Newk's had a great chance to expand. After being bought, Newk's planned to open many more restaurants. They hoped to have over 300 locations by 2018.
