Ngozi Paul is a talented Canadian actress, writer, director, and producer. She is most famous for creating, producing, and starring in the TV show Da Kink in My Hair, which was a popular comedic drama on Global TV.

Early Life and Beginnings
Ngozi Paul was born and grew up in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Her father came from Dominica, and her mother was from St. Kitts and Nevis. She is the younger sister of Annamie Paul, who used to be the leader of the Green Party of Canada.
Ngozi studied classical theatre at the Birmingham Conservatory. She started her acting journey on stage at the famous Stratford Festival in Canada.
Ngozi Paul's Career
Ngozi Paul has had a very successful career in entertainment. In 2003, Now Magazine in Toronto named her one of the city's top ten actors. She won the Tyrone Guthrie Award for her work at the Stratford Festival. She was also nominated for Best Actress at the International Black Film Festival for her role in the movie Banyan.
She played a main role in the film Short Hymn, Silent War, directed by Charles Officer. This movie was shown at the 2004 Sundance Film Festival and was nominated for a Genie Award. Ngozi also played a young Nelson Mandela in a play called In the Freedom of Dreams: The Story of Nelson Mandela in Toronto.
Behind the Scenes Work
Ngozi Paul also works behind the scenes in film and TV. She started her own company, Ngozika Productions. This company creates movies and TV shows that share stories from an Afro-Canadian point of view.
She helped produce the Tonya Williams Gospel Jubilee. Ngozi was also a creative director, associate producer, story editor, and writer for the TV series Lord Have Mercy! in 2003. This show was nominated for a Gemini Award. She also took part in Talent Lab, a program for new filmmakers interested in making movies on mobile phones.
Da Kink in My Hair
After a successful theatre play called Da Kink in My Hair, Ngozi helped create the TV series with the same name. She was an executive producer and starred in the show from 2007 to 2009. The series became very popular.
Recent Projects and Advocacy
In 2015, Ngozi Paul wrote and starred in her play, The Emancipation of Ms. Lovely. This play was nominated for six Dora Awards and won the award for Outstanding New Play. The story mixes Ngozi's own experiences with the story of Sarah Baartman. It explores the many different parts of a Black woman's identity. Now Magazine praised her performance, saying she was "magnetic" and "fierce, funny and moving."
She also has a documentary series called Care for Color. Ngozi is passionate about helping her community. She works to raise awareness for important social issues. She has been a global ambassador for organizations like Because I'm A Girl and the Stephen Lewis Foundation, which help people around the world.
