Niagara is a small, unofficial community in Marion County, Oregon, United States. It is called an "unincorporated community" because it doesn't have its own city government. Instead, it's part of the larger county area.
Discovering Niagara
Niagara is well-known for its historic Niagara County Park. This park is quite special! It was the very first park ever created by the Marion County Park and Recreation Commission.
The Old Dam
Inside Niagara County Park, you can find an old, historic dam. People started building this dam a long time ago, back in the 1890s.
However, the dam was never fully finished. A study done by engineers from the University of Oregon showed that work on the dam stopped by November 1904. Even though it was never completed, it remains an interesting part of the park's history.
