After his role in Halloween, he started directing many films. Some of his well-known movies include The Last Starfighter (1984), The Boy Who Could Fly (1986), Dennis the Menace (1993), and Major Payne (1995).

Nick Castle's Career in Movies

He wrote the stories for films such as Escape from New York and Hook. He was both the writer and director for the movie Tap.

Playing Michael Myers

In 1978, Nick Castle took on the famous role of Michael Myers in the scary movie Halloween. This film was directed by his friend John Carpenter. For his work, Castle was paid 25 dollars a day.

Castle worked with John Carpenter on other projects too. One of the main characters in the movie The Fog was named after him. He also helped write the script for Escape from New York. Plus, he sang the main song for Big Trouble in Little China with his band, The Coup De Villes. His bandmates were Carpenter and another friend, Tommy Lee Wallace.

After Halloween, Castle started directing movies. His first film as a director was Tag: The Assassination Game. He then directed other films like The Last Starfighter, The Boy Who Could Fly, Dennis the Menace, and Major Payne.

Later Work and Awards

Nick Castle wrote the movie August Rush, which came out in 2007. It was a musical drama directed by Kirsten Sheridan. Famous actors like Freddie Highmore, Jonathan Rhys-Meyers, Robin Williams, and Keri Russell starred in it.

In 2018, Castle made a small appearance as Michael Myers in the movie Halloween. This made him one of the few actors to play Michael Myers more than once. While another actor, James Jude Courtney, did most of the work as Michael Myers, Castle played the role in one scene with Jamie Lee Curtis. He also did all of Michael Myers' breathing sounds for the movie. Both actors felt it was an "honor" to work together.

Nick Castle has won several awards for his work. He received a Saturn Award for Best Writing for The Boy Who Could Fly. He also won a Silver Raven for Delivering Milo and a Grand Prize for The Last Starfighter.
