Nicholas Raymond Plummer (born July 31, 1996) is an American professional baseball outfielder. He is currently a free agent, meaning he can sign with any team. Nick has played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the New York Mets.
He went to Brother Rice High School in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. After high school, the St. Louis Cardinals picked him in the 2015 MLB draft. He played in their minor league teams for seven years. Later, he joined the Mets in 2021.

Nick's Early Baseball Days
Nick Plummer went to Brother Rice High School in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. He started playing on the school's main baseball team when he was just a freshman.
When he was a junior, Nick was a fantastic hitter. He hit for a .573 average. This means he got a hit almost 6 out of every 10 times he tried! He also hit eight home runs and helped his team score 34 runs batted in (RBIs).
In 2015, a group called the American Baseball Coaches Association named him the best high school player in the country. Nick had planned to play college baseball at the University of Kentucky.
Playing Professional Baseball
Starting with the St. Louis Cardinals
Nick Plummer was seen as one of the best young players for the 2015 Major League Baseball draft. The St. Louis Cardinals chose him as the 23rd player picked overall. He signed with the Cardinals in June.
He spent his first year playing in the minor leagues with the Gulf Coast League Cardinals. He played in 51 games, hitting .228 with one home run.
In 2016, Nick had to miss the whole season. He needed surgery on his hand. He came back in 2017 and played for the Peoria Chiefs. He played in 92 games that year.
Nick returned to Peoria in 2018. He hit eight home runs and had 30 RBIs in 104 games. In 2019, he played for the Palm Beach Cardinals. He hit five home runs and had 29 RBIs. The 2020 baseball season was canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In 2021, Nick started the season with the Springfield Cardinals. On July 8, he had an amazing game. He hit three home runs, including one that won the game! He was named the Cardinals' Player of the Month for July. He hit .326 and reached base safely in every game that month.
On August 7, he set a new record for Springfield. He reached base in 33 games in a row. This was more than any other player for that team. Later in August, he was moved up to the Memphis Redbirds. After the season, Nick became a free agent. This meant he could sign with any team he wanted.
Time with the New York Mets
On November 24, 2021, Nick Plummer signed a contract with the New York Mets. He made his first appearance in Major League Baseball with the Mets on April 15, 2022. This game was at Citi Field against the Arizona Diamondbacks. He came into the game in the ninth inning to play defense.
Two days later, he had his first chance to hit in a Major League game. On April 18, he was sent back to the minor leagues. But he was called back up on May 28.
On May 29, Nick hit his first Major League hit. It was a home run in the bottom of the ninth inning against the Philadelphia Phillies. This home run tied the game! He was the 14th player in Mets history to hit a home run for their very first hit.
He then hit a home run in his second game in a row. This made him the first Mets player ever to hit home runs in his first two starts. On August 16, 2022, the Mets decided to remove him from their main roster. He then went to play for the Syracuse Mets. After the season, he became a free agent again on November 10.
Joining the Cincinnati Reds
On February 3, 2023, Nick Plummer signed a minor league contract with the Cincinnati Reds. However, the Reds released him on March 27.
