Nickelodeon Latin America is a super fun TV channel for kids and teens across Latin America! It's the Latin American version of the famous Nickelodeon channel from the United States. This channel is owned by a company called ViacomCBS Networks Americas. It first started broadcasting on December 20, 1996.

Nickelodeon Latin America shows many popular cartoons and live-action shows from the main Nickelodeon channel. It also airs content from Nick Jr., which is for younger kids. Plus, it has even made some of its own original shows! You can find this channel through many TV providers in different countries.

The channel is divided into different versions, called "feeds," to make sure the shows and times are right for each area. There are three main feeds for Spanish-speaking countries.

How Nickelodeon Reaches You

Nickelodeon Latin America uses four different versions, or "feeds," to broadcast its shows across the region. This helps them show the right programs at the right times for each country.

  • North Feed: This version is mainly for Mexico. It used to cover a wider area, but now it's focused on Mexico.
  • Central Feed: This feed is for countries like Colombia, Central America, the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Chile, Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia. Before 2012, it also covered Paraguay and Uruguay.
  • South Feed: This version is for Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay. Chile used to be part of this feed until 2017.

What's On Nickelodeon

Nickelodeon Latin America plays many of your favorite shows! This includes popular cartoons and live-action series from the original Nickelodeon channel in the U.S. They also air shows from Nick Jr., which is designed for preschool children. Sometimes, the channel even creates its own special shows just for Latin American viewers.

Fun Events and More

Verano Nick

"Verano Nick" means "Nick Summer" in Spanish. It's a special summer event that Nickelodeon holds every year since 2007. These events take place in fun locations like beaches and hotels, bringing Nickelodeon fun directly to fans during the summer holidays!

Kids' Choice Awards Mexico

In June 2010, the company Viacom decided that Mexico could have its very own Kids' Choice Awards! This big show happened on September 4, 2010, at "El Teatro Chino de Six Flags" inside the Six Flags Mexico park. Famous hosts Omar Chaparro and Anahí led the show. Even though the event was in September, it was shown on TV later, on October 14, 2010.

Kids' Choice Awards Argentina

Argentina also has its own version of the Kids' Choice Awards! It's a big event where fans can vote for their favorite stars, shows, and more.

Kids' Choice Awards Colombia

Colombia joined the fun too, with its own Kids' Choice Awards! This event celebrates the most popular entertainment chosen by kids in Colombia.

Revista Nick

"Revista Nick" was a magazine about Nickelodeon. It started in Mexico on November 27, 2004. Sadly, it stopped being published in April 2010. This happened because more and more people started getting their Nickelodeon news and fun online instead of from magazines.

Nickelodeon Website

For a long time, the official website for Nickelodeon Latin America was called MundoNick.com. It launched way back in 1999. But in 2020, MundoNick.com closed down. Now, the channel has a brand new website called Nickelodeon.la, where you can find all the latest news and games.

In September 2010, MTV Networks Latin America announced exciting plans for 2011. One of these plans was to launch Nickelodeon HD, a high-definition version of the channel. More details were shared in May 2011. The HD channel officially started on June 1, 2011, across all of Latin America. You could watch it in Portuguese (for Brazil), Spanish, and even English (if your TV had that option).

On December 17, 2015, Nick HD started showing the same programs as the main Nickelodeon channel. Then, on August 1, 2016, the original Nick HD channel changed its name to Nick 2.

Nick Jr.

Nick Jr. is another TV channel in Latin America, also owned by Viacom. This channel is made especially for younger children, like preschoolers. At first, Nick Jr. was just a block of shows on the main Nickelodeon channel from 1997 to 2007. But in 2008, it became its very own channel, broadcasting 24 hours a day!

Nicktoons

On January 29, 2013, it was announced that a Nicktoons channel would be launching in Mexico. It began airing on February 4, 2013, on several TV providers. This channel focused on showing animated series from Nickelodeon. However, by the end of 2020, the Nicktoons channel was replaced by the US version of NickMusic on many TV providers. It officially shut down in December 2020.

NickMusic

NickMusic is a channel that plays music videos. It started showing the same programs as its US version on September 1, 2020. NickMusic replaced another channel called VH1 MegaHits and also took the place of Nicktoons in some Latin American countries.

TeenNick

TeenNick is a channel that focuses on shows for teenagers. It used to be called Nick 2. TeenNick officially replaced Nick 2 on September 14, 2020. It's a channel that doesn't have commercials.
