Anahí Giovanna Puente Portilla (born May 14, 1983), known to her fans simply as Anahí, is a famous Mexican singer, songwriter, and actress. She started acting as a child in 1986 on the show Chiquilladas. She appeared in many popular telenovelas (a type of TV drama) like Alondra and El diario de Daniela.
Her first main role was in the show Primer amor, a mil por hora in 2000. Anahí became a huge international star in 2004 when she starred in the telenovela Rebelde. She was also a member of the pop group RBD, which came from the show. RBD was nominated for two Latin Grammy Awards and sold over 15 million records around the world. Her last telenovela was Dos hogares in 2011.
As a solo singer, Anahí has released six studio albums and sold over five million albums worldwide. She is known for being the best-selling solo artist from the RBD group in the United States.

Early Life and Family
Anahí Giovanna Puente Portilla was born in Mexico City, Mexico. Her father, Enrique Puente, was a singer, and her mother is Marichelo Portilla. She has an older sister named Marichelo Puente, who is also a TV personality, and an older half-sister named Diana.
Acting Career
Starting as a Child Star
Anahí began her career when she was just two years old on a TV show called Chiquilladas. She also starred in movies and won an Ariel Award for Best Child Actress in 1989 for the film Había Una Vez Una Estrella. She continued to act in many popular telenovelas throughout the 1990s.
Becoming a Teen Idol
In 2001, Anahí starred as the main character, Jovanna Luna, in the teen telenovela Primer Amor. The show was very popular with young audiences. In 2002, she joined the cast of Clase 406, where she worked with her future RBD bandmates Alfonso Herrera, Dulce María, and Christian Chávez.
International Fame with Rebelde
In 2004, Anahí was cast as Mia Colucci in Rebelde. The show was a remake of a popular telenovela from Argentina. Anahí's character, Mia, was a popular and wealthy high school student. Rebelde became a massive hit worldwide, with over 440 episodes airing between 2004 and 2006.
After Rebelde, the members of the band starred in a TV show called RBD: La familia in 2007. The show was about the fictional lives of the band members and was the first Mexican show filmed entirely in high-definition (HD).
Music Career
Early Solo Albums
Anahí released her first album in 1993 when she was only 10 years old. She released three more albums after that: ¿Hoy Es Mañana? (1996), Anclado En Mi Corazón (1997), and Baby Blue (2000).
Success with RBD
The TV show Rebelde led to the creation of the pop group RBD. The group was incredibly successful, releasing nine studio albums in Spanish, Portuguese, and English. They sold over 20 million albums and toured all over the world, including South America, North America, and Europe.
In 2008, RBD announced they were splitting up and went on one last tour.
Return to Solo Music
In 2009, Anahí launched her solo career again with the album Mi Delirio. The album was a big success, especially in Brazil, where it was certified Gold. Her Mi Delirio World Tour was named the seventh most profitable tour of 2010 by Billboard magazine.
She later released a deluxe edition of the album with new songs, including the hit single "Alérgico". The song was inspired by a book from the famous author Paulo Coelho.
In 2016, Anahí released her sixth album, Inesperado. One of its singles, "Rumba", which featured the singer Wisin, reached number one on Billboard's Tropical Songs chart. In December 2020, Anahí and her RBD bandmates reunited for a special online concert.
Personal Life
In her early career, Anahí faced serious health challenges. She has since recovered and has spoken openly about her experiences to help others. She launched a campaign to raise awareness and support for young people dealing with similar issues.
In 2011, she had a successful operation to fix a health problem that was affecting her breathing.
On April 25, 2015, Anahí married Manuel Velasco Coello, who was the Governor of Chiapas, a state in Mexico. As the governor's wife, she took on the public role of First Lady of Chiapas. She and her husband have two sons, Manuel (born in 2017) and Emiliano (born in 2020).
Anahí has also been involved in charity work. In 2011, she joined The Non-Violence Project as a Global Ambassador, alongside other famous figures like Paul McCartney and Yoko Ono. The project works to promote peace around the world.
