Anahí Giovanna Puente Portilla (born on May 14, 1983), known simply as Anahí, is a famous Mexican singer, songwriter, and actress. She started acting very young in 1986 on a show called Chiquilladas.

Anahí became well-known for her roles in many popular Mexican TV shows called telenovelas. Her first main role was in Primer Amor... A Mil por Hora in 2000. She gained huge international fame in 2004 when she starred in Rebelde. This led her to become a member of the super successful music group RBD. RBD sold over 15 million albums around the world.

Anahí has released several solo albums throughout her career. Her album Mi Delirio (2009) sold 500,000 copies worldwide. Her song "Rumba" (2015) reached number one on Billboard's Tropical Songs chart. She sings in Spanish, English, Portuguese, and Italian.

Early Life and Beginnings

Anahí Giovanna Puente Portilla was born on May 14, 1983, in Mexico City, Mexico. Her father, Enrique Puente, was a singer and TV producer. Her mother is María del Consuelo "Marichelo" Portilla. Anahí has an older sister, Marichelo Puente, who is also a TV personality.

Anahí began her acting journey at just two years old on the Mexican TV show Chiquilladas. She also appeared in movies like Había Una Vez Una Estrella, which won her an Ariel Award for Best Child Actress in 1989. She then starred in many telenovelas, including El diario de Daniela.

In 2001, Anahí played Jovanna Luna in Primer Amor. This teen soap opera was very popular. In 2002, she joined the cast of Clase 406. Here, she worked with Alfonso Herrera, Dulce María, and Christian Chávez, who later became her bandmates in RBD.

Her biggest acting role came in 2004 with Rebelde. This show was a Mexican version of an Argentine telenovela. Anahí played Mia Colucci, a popular girl from a rich family. Rebelde was a huge hit worldwide, with over 440 episodes.

After Rebelde's success, Televisa created RBD: La familia in 2007. This sitcom showed the fictional lives of the RBD band members. It was the first Mexican show filmed entirely in high-definition. The show ran for 13 episodes.

In 2011, Anahí returned to TV in Dos Hogares, playing the main character. This was her most recent telenovela role.

Anahí released her first album, Anahí, when she was just 10 years old in 1993. She then released other albums like ¿Hoy Es Mañana? (1996), Anclado En Mi Corazón (1997), and Baby Blue (2000).

The success of Rebelde led to the creation of the band RBD. RBD released nine studio albums in Spanish, Portuguese, and English. They sold over 20 million albums and toured across many continents.

After RBD split up in 2008, Anahí started her solo music career again. In 2009, she released her single "Mi Delirio". Her album Mi Delirio came out later that year and was certified Gold in Brazil. Her "Mi Delirio World Tour" was one of the most successful tours in 2010.

In 2010, Anahí hosted the Kids Choice Awards Mexico. She also won awards for Favorite Artist and Favorite Look. She performed her song "Alérgico" at the event.

In 2011, Anahí worked with Christian Chávez, her former RBD bandmate, on the song "Libertad". She also sang the opening theme for the TV series Popland! called "Click". Anahí recorded the theme songs for her telenovela Dos Hogares, "Dividida" and "Rendirme En Tu Amor".

In 2015, Anahí released "Están Ahí", a song dedicated to her fans. She then released "Rumba" with rapper Wisin. Her album Inesperado followed in 2016.

Anahí and her RBD bandmates reunited for a special live concert on December 26, 2020.

On April 25, 2015, Anahí married Manuel Velasco Coello. He was the Governor of Chiapas, a state in Mexico. As the governor's wife, she took on a public role in the state.

Anahí is a strong supporter of healthy eating habits in Mexico. In 2007, special Barbie dolls were made of Anahí, Dulce Maria, and Maite Perroni, based on their characters from Rebelde. People en Español magazine named her one of their "50 Most Beautiful" people in 2010.

In 2011, Anahí became a spokeswoman for the chocolate brand Snickers in Latin America. She also joined The Non-Violence Project's campaign, "Imagine One Billion Faces For Peace", as a Global Ambassador. This campaign promotes peace and non-violence worldwide.

In 2013, Anahí launched her own nail polish line called "BE by Anahí". The collection featured 25 different colors, with names inspired by her music.

Anahí and Manuel Velasco Coello got engaged in October 2014 and married in April 2015. They have two sons: Manuel, born in 2017, and Emiliano, born in 2020. Anahí is Catholic.
