Dulce María Espinosa Saviñón (born 6 December 1985), known as Dulce María, is a talented Mexican singer and actress.

Dulce María started her career very young, appearing in over 100 TV commercials by age 5. At eleven, she joined the music group KIDS. Later, at fifteen, she became part of another group called Jeans. She also starred in many popular TV shows, known as telenovelas. Some of these include Rebelde (2004), Verano de amor (2009), and Pienso en ti (2023).

In 2004, Dulce María became famous worldwide after starring in the telenovela Rebelde. She was also a member of the group RBD, which was nominated for Latin Grammy Awards twice. RBD sold over 15 million records around the world.

Since 2009, Dulce María has been a solo music artist. Her first solo album, Extranjera - Primera Parte (2010), was a big hit in Mexico. It also made her the first Mexican artist to earn a platinum award in Brazil. Dulce María has released four solo albums: Extranjera - Segunda Parte (2011), Sin Fronteras (2014), DM (2017), and Origen (2021).

Dulce María has won many international awards. These include the MTV Europe Music Awards, Premios TVyNovelas, and Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards in different countries. Dulce María's Early Life and Childhood

Dulce María was born on 6 December 1985, in Mexico City. She has two sisters, Blanca Ireri and Claudia. Her family has German, Native Mexican, and Spanish roots. She is also the great-niece of the famous painter Frida Kahlo.

As a child, Dulce María started appearing in TV commercials. In 1993, at age 8, she joined Plaza Sesamo, which is Mexico's version of Sesame Street. She also appeared in other TV shows and specials for Discovery Kids. Dulce María began acting in soap operas, but she found her true passion when she joined the music project that became RBD.

In 1996, Dulce María joined the Mexican music group KIDS. They were very popular with children in Mexico. In 1999, Dulce decided to leave the group. After KIDS, Dulce and her boyfriend at the time, Daniel Habif (who was also in KIDS), started their own group called D&D. They recorded five songs, but the group eventually split up.

In early 2000, Dulce joined Jeans, an all-girl Latin pop group. She left this group after two years. This was because she got a main role in the 2002 telenovela, Clase 406. Other future members of RBD also starred in Clase 406 before RBD started in 2004.

Dulce María began acting in movies and later got a main role in the telenovela Rebelde. The success of Rebelde led to the creation of the group RBD. The group included Dulce, Maite Perroni, Christian Chávez, Alfonso Herrera, Anahí, and Christopher von Uckermann. RBD released 9 studio albums in Spanish, Portuguese, and English. They sold over 20 million albums worldwide and toured many countries.

On 15 August 2008, RBD announced they would split up. They went on a final tour called Gira del Adiós World Tour, which ended in 2008. After RBD broke up, Dulce signed with Universal Music. She announced in 2009 that she would start recording as a solo artist.

Dulce María's Solo Music Career

In 2009, Dulce María recorded two new songs for the telenovela Verano de amor. These songs were "Verano" and "Déjame Ser," which she co-wrote. She also worked with Akon to remix his song "Beautiful". They performed it together at a radio concert in 2009.

Dulce María released her first solo single, "Inevitable", on 17 May 2010. The music video came out on 24 May. Her first solo album, Extranjera, was released in two parts. Extranjera Primera Parte came out on 9 November 2010, with 7 songs. Extranjera Segunda Parte followed on 14 June 2011, with 7 more songs and a DVD. Her second single, "Ya No", was a cover of a song by the late singer Selena.

In 2016, Dulce María started recording her third album, "DM". It was released on 10 March 2017. She then went on the DM World Tour to promote the album in Mexico, Brazil, and Spain.

In 2018, she announced a new album called Origen. This album would feature only songs she had written herself. The album was released in 2021.

Dulce María's Acting Roles

After her success as a child star, Dulce María began acting in telenovelas for teens. These included El Juego de la Vida and Clase 406. In Clase 406, she worked with Alfonso Herrera, Anahí, and Christian Chávez. They later became her bandmates in RBD.

In 2004, she was chosen for one of the main roles in Rebelde. This was a Mexican version of a popular Argentinian telenovela. Dulce played Roberta Pardo, a strong-willed character. Rebelde was a huge success worldwide, with over 400 episodes from 2004 to 2006. In 2006, she won an award for Best Young Telenovela Actress for her work in Rebelde.

After Rebelde's success, Televisa released RBD: La familia in 2007. This sitcom starred the members of RBD. The show was about the fictional lives of the band members, similar to their real personalities. RBD: La Familia was the first Mexican series filmed entirely in High Definition. It had 13 episodes and ran from March to June 2007.

In 2009, Dulce starred in the telenovela Verano de amor. She also sang the theme songs for the show. In 2010, she won an award for Best Young Actress for her role in Verano de amor.

In April 2010, Dulce María was cast in an independent film called "Alguien Ha Visto A Lupita?" (Have You Seen Lupita?). The film was released in March 2011.

Later, in 2013, Dulce starred in the telenovela Mentir para Vivir. In 2016, she played her first villain role in the telenovela Corazón que miente. In 2018, Dulce starred in the telenovela Muy padres.

Dulce María's Philanthropy and Good Works

Dulce María has always been involved in helping others. In September 2009, Google, Save the Children, and Chicos.net chose her to represent their "Technology Yes" campaign. This campaign teaches young people how to use the internet safely.

In October 2009, Dulce created her own foundation called Fundación Dulce Amanecer. This foundation helps different social causes. It supports indigenous women and works to protect the environment. Dulce keeps the foundation going with help from her fans and by donating her personal items.

Because of her charity work, Nickelodeon Latin America gave Dulce María the "Pro Social Award" at the Nickelodeon Mexico Kids' Choice Awards 2011. This special award recognizes people who make a positive impact on the environment or society. Famous people like Michelle Obama have also received this award.

In February 2010, Dulce María and Alfonso Herrera became representatives for Expo Joven 2010. This event spoke out against violence and insecurity in Mexico. Dulce gave a talk about "friendship" at the event in Chihuahua City.

In August 2012, Dulce María helped build a playground in Lynwood, California. This was part of a project by KaBOOM! and Kool-Aid to encourage kids to be active. Dulce helped paint, mix cement, and met with families and volunteers.

In October 2012, Dulce represented the "Mujeres a Tiempo" campaign by Televisa Monterrey. This campaign fights against breast cancer. Dulce even wrote and recorded a song called "Reloj de arena" as the campaign's anthem. She also took part in a photo campaign to raise awareness for breast cancer early detection.

In September 2013, Dulce joined other artists to record "¡Súmate Ya!". This was the official song for a campaign to help people affected by Hurricane Ingrid and Hurricane Manuel. In December, Dulce joined the Televisa Foundation's "Live the Dream" campaign. She visited a school in Houston, Texas, to inspire students to achieve their goals.

In March 2015, Dulce joined People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) to speak out against the abuse of elephants in circuses. She filmed a video asking people not to go to circuses that use animals. She also praised Mexico for banning wild animals in circuses.

In November 2015, on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, Dulce joined the #NiUnaMás campaign. This campaign aims to raise awareness about gender violence in Mexico.

In January 2016, Dulce María joined the #LeerMx campaign, which encourages young people to read. In October, she became an ambassador for the "Vive con Glamour" campaign by Glamour magazine. This campaign encourages women to perform self-examinations for breast cancer.

On 23 February 2017, Dulce María became an ambassador for World Vision International. This Christian organization helps children in Latin America who are facing abuse and violence. Dulce, along with singers like Cristian Castro and Kalimba, released the song "Da Amor" as the official song for World Vision.

Dulce María's Personal Life

Dulce María dated Daniel Habif, her bandmate from KIDS, for five years. She also dated Alfonso Herrera from 2002 to 2005. In 2008, Dulce started dating actor Pablo Lyle, but they broke up a year later.

On 9 November 2019, Dulce María married Mexican producer Paco Álvarez in a small ceremony in Jojutla, Mexico. On 8 June 2020, Dulce María announced that she and Álvarez were expecting their first child. Their daughter, María Paula, was born on November 27, 2020.
