Dulce María Espinosa Saviñón (born December 6, 1985), known simply as Dulce María, is a talented Mexican singer and actress. She started her career very young, appearing in many TV commercials. Later, she became famous as part of the music group RBD and also starred in popular TV shows.
Dulce María gained international fame in 2004. This was after she starred in the TV show Rebelde. She was also a member of the successful group RBD. RBD sold over 15 million records around the world. Since 2009, Dulce María has also had a successful solo music career. She has released four solo albums. She has won many awards for her work in music and acting.

Early Life and First Steps
Dulce María was born in Mexico City on December 6, 1985. She has two sisters, Blanca Ireri and Claudia. She has a mix of German, Native Mexican, and Spanish family roots. Interestingly, she is also a distant cousin of the famous painter Frida Kahlo.
As a child, Dulce María started appearing in TV commercials. When she was 8, in 1993, she joined Plaza Sesamo. This was Mexico's version of the popular children's show Sesame Street. She also appeared in other children's shows and specials.
Music Journey
In 1996, Dulce María joined a Mexican music group called KIDS. They were very popular with children in Mexico. She left the group in 1999. After that, she and Daniel Habif, another member of KIDS, tried to start their own group called D&D. They recorded five songs, but the group did not continue.
In 2000, Dulce joined Jeans, a female pop group. She stayed with them for two years. She left Jeans because she got a main role in the 2002 TV show Clase 406. Other future members of RBD also starred in Clase 406.
The biggest step in her music career came in 2004. She was cast as a main character in Rebelde. The success of Rebelde led to the creation of the music group RBD. The group included Dulce María, Maite Perroni, Christian Chávez, Alfonso Herrera, Anahí, and Christopher von Uckermann. RBD released 9 studio albums in Spanish, Portuguese, and English. They sold over 20 million albums worldwide. They also toured across many countries.
On August 15, 2008, RBD announced they would be splitting up. They went on a final tour called Gira del Adiós World Tour. After RBD broke up, Dulce María signed with Universal Music. She began recording music as a solo artist in 2009.
Solo Music Projects
In 2009, Dulce María recorded two songs for the TV show Verano de amor. One of these songs, "Déjame Ser," she helped write. She also worked with the singer Akon on a remix of his song "Beautiful".
Her first solo single, "Inevitable", was released on May 17, 2010. Her first solo album, Extranjera, was released in two parts. Extranjera Primera Parte came out on November 9, 2010. It had 7 songs, including "Inevitable." Extranjera Segunda Parte was released on June 14, 2011, with more songs and a DVD. Her second single was "Ya No", a cover of a song by Selena.
Dulce María continued to release solo albums. Her third album, "DM", was released on March 10, 2017. She then went on the DM World Tour to promote it. In 2018, she announced a new album called Origen. This album features songs she composed herself. Origen was released in 2021.
Acting Roles
After being a child star, Dulce María began acting in TV shows for teens. These included El Juego de la Vida and Clase 406. In Clase 406, she worked with Alfonso Herrera, Anahí, and Christian Chávez. They later became her bandmates in RBD.
In 2004, she got a main role in Rebelde. This was a Mexican version of an Argentinian TV show. Dulce played Roberta Pardo, a strong-willed character. Rebelde was very popular worldwide and had over 400 episodes. In 2006, she won an award for Best Young Telenovela Actress for her role in Rebelde.
In 2007, the members of RBD starred in a TV show called RBD: La familia. This show was about the fictional lives of the band members. It was the first Mexican series filmed entirely in high-definition.
In 2009, Dulce starred in the TV show Verano de amor. She also sang the theme songs for this show. In 2010, she won an award for Best Young Actress for her work in Verano de amor.
Dulce María also acted in films. In 2010, she was cast in the independent film "Alguien Ha Visto A Lupita?" (Have You Seen Lupita?). The film was released in 2011. Helping Others (Philanthropy)
Dulce María has always been involved in helping others. In 2009, she was chosen by Google, Save the Children, and Chicos.net to promote safe internet use for young people. In October 2009, Dulce started her own foundation called Fundación Dulce Amanecer. This foundation helps different social causes. It supports indigenous women and cares for the environment. She gets support from her fans and through donations.
Because of her foundation, Nickelodeon Latin America gave Dulce María the Pro Social Award in 2011. This special award recognizes people who make a positive impact on the environment or society. Other famous people like Michelle Obama have also received this award.
In 2010, Dulce María and Alfonso Herrera spoke at Expo Joven 2010. This event aimed to speak out against violence in Mexico. Dulce gave a talk about friendship at the event.
In 2012, Dulce María helped build a playground in California. This was to encourage kids to be active and reduce obesity. She also supported a campaign against breast cancer. She even wrote a song called "Reloj de arena" for the campaign.

Dulce María's great aunt was the famous Mexican painter Frida Kahlo. Dulce's grandmother was Frida's cousin.

Dulce María married Mexican producer Paco Álvarez on November 9, 2019. They had been dating for three years. On June 8, 2020, Dulce María announced they were expecting their first child. Their daughter, María Paula, was born on November 27, 2020.
