Maite Perroni Beorlegui (born March 9, 1983) is a famous Mexican actress, singer, songwriter, and producer. She became well-known around the world in 2004. This happened after she starred in the Mexican TV show Rebelde. This show also led to the creation of the pop-rock music group RBD, which was nominated for a Latin Grammy.
As an actress, Maite Perroni started her career in 2004. She has since starred in many TV series. In 2009, she was called "The New Queen of Telenovelas" by Univision. A telenovela is a type of long TV drama, similar to a soap opera. In 2016, she won an award for Best Actress for her work in Antes muerta que Lichita. She has also starred in Netflix shows like Dark Desire and Triada. In Triada, she played three identical characters. Maite has also lent her voice to characters in animated movies, like the "Huevos" film series and the Tooth Fairy in the Latin American Spanish version of Rise of the Guardians.
In 2012, Maite Perroni signed a contract with Warner Music Group. The next year, she released her first solo album, Eclipse de Luna (2013). Early Life and Rise to Fame
Maite Perroni Beorlegui was born in Mexico City. She spent her childhood in Guadalajara until she was 12 years old. Then, her family moved back to Mexico City. She has two younger brothers, Adolfo and Francisco.
From a young age, Maite loved acting. She appeared in many TV commercials and music videos. In school, she enjoyed acting, art, singing, and dancing. She even danced in a Disney Channel show. After high school, Maite went to the Centro de Educación Artística (CEA). This is an acting school run by Televisa, a big Mexican media company. She finished the three-year course in just two years.
After graduating, Maite got her first big role as Guadalupe "Lupita" Fernandez in the Mexican telenovela Rebelde. She was one of the six main actors in the show. The series was very popular and lasted for three seasons.
Through Rebelde, Maite became part of the music group RBD. This group performed sold-out concerts in many countries, including Brazil, Mexico, Spain, and Ecuador. RBD became famous worldwide, winning awards for "Best Group of the Year" and "Best Album of the Year." They sold over 50 million records and filled huge venues like Madison Square Garden.
In 2008, Maite's popularity grew even more. She was chosen to be one of the first Latin women to have a Barbie doll made in her likeness. The Maite Perroni Barbie doll was very successful in Mexico, Latin America, the United States, and Spain.
In 2014, Maite started her own clothing line called Colección Maite Perroni. She has also hosted important awards shows. She is very popular on social media, with millions of followers on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
Acting Career Highlights
Maite Perroni's acting journey began with Rebelde. This show was a new version of an Argentine telenovela called Rebelde Way. In Rebelde, Maite played Guadalupe "Lupita" Fernández. Lupita was a teenage girl from a modest family who got the chance to study at a special school. The show ran from 2004 to 2006 and had 440 episodes.
After Rebelde ended, the members of RBD starred in a sitcom called RBD: La Familia in 2007. This show was about the actors' real personalities, not their characters from Rebelde. It was the first Mexican show filmed entirely in high definition.
In 2008, Maite played the main character in Cuidado con el ángel alongside William Levy. This show was a big hit around the world. She then took on her third main role in Mi Pecado.
Maite also appeared in an episode of Mujeres Asesinas in 2010. Later that year, she reunited with William Levy to star in Triunfo del Amor.
She continued to star in many popular telenovelas, including Cachito de Cielo (2012), La Gata (2014), and Antes muerta que Lichita (2015). In 2014, People en Español magazine called her the new queen of Mexican telenovelas.
More recently, Maite has starred in digital series. She played Adriana "Adri" Romero in El juego de las llaves (2019–2021). She also played Alma Quintana Solares in the popular Netflix series Dark Desire (2020–2022). In 2023, she took on a challenging role in Tríada, where she played three identical triplets.
Music Career
Maite Perroni was a key member of the famous band RBD. The band grew out of the success of the Rebelde telenovela. RBD released nine studio albums in Spanish, Portuguese, and English. They sold over 15 million albums worldwide and went on many international tours.
Maite also wrote a song called "Tal Vez Mañana" for RBD's album Empezar Desde Cero. She sang solo on the title track of that album.
In August 2008, RBD announced they would be splitting up. They went on a final tour called Gira Del Adios World Tour. Maite missed some parts of this tour because she was filming Cuidado con el ángel.
For her role in Cuidado con el ángel, Maite recorded three songs for the show: "Esta Soledad," "Separada De Ti," and "Contigo." She also recorded "Mi Pecado" with the band Reik, which was the opening song for the telenovela Mi Pecado. Another duet, "A Partir De Hoy" with Marco di Mauro, was part of the soundtrack for Triunfo del Amor.
In 2012, Maite released a single called "Te daré mi corazón" for her telenovela "Cachito de Cielo." Later that year, she announced her first solo album, Eclipse de Luna. The first single from the album, "Tu y Yo," was a bachata song released in July 2013.
In May 2014, she released another bachata song, "Vas A Querer Volver," which was the theme song for her soap opera La Gata. She also released a duet with Alex Ubago called "Todo lo que soy" for the same telenovela. In July 2016, Maite released her single Adicta, which has millions of views on YouTube.

Maite Perroni has been the face of several brands. She was a spokesmodel for NYX Cosmetics. In 2007, a Barbie doll was made of her character from Rebelde.
In 2009, Maite showed her support for the Ecologist Green Party of Mexico. She has also appeared in commercials for companies like Giraffas, Pepsi, Proactiv, Teleton, Pantene, and Coppel.
In 2014, Maite worked with National Stores to launch her own fashion line, Coleccion Maite Perroni. This clothing line was inspired by her favorite designers and her personal style. She wanted it to be for "Latinas who accept, love themselves... who want to look good and feel better."

Personal Life
Maite Perroni lives in Los Angeles, California. She was in a relationship with musician and producer Koko Stambuk from 2013 to 2020.
In 2021, Maite started dating producer Andrés Tovar. They announced their engagement in September 2022 and got married on October 9, 2022. On January 6, 2023, Maite announced she was expecting her first child. Their daughter, Lía, was born in May 2023.
Maite is fluent in both Spanish and English. She is also an Ambassador for PADF, an organization that works to raise awareness and fight against child labor. In 2015, Variety magazine named Maite one of the "Top 10 Latinas to Watch."
