A Look Back: Nickerson's History
Nickerson was officially planned out in 1871. This happened when a railroad, the Fremont, Elkhorn & Missouri Valley Railroad, reached this area. The village was named after its founder, Reynolds K. Nickerson. Nickerson became an officially recognized village in 1910.
