Niederglatt is a small town, also called a municipality, located in Switzerland. It's part of the Dielsdorf district in the canton of Zürich. Switzerland is divided into cantons, which are like states or provinces.

History of Niederglatt
Niederglatt was first written about a long time ago. In 1149, it was called Niderunglatto. A few years later, between 1153 and 1155, it was known as Nidrunglate. For many years, until 1840, Niederglatt was part of another nearby town called Niederhasli.

Niederglatt covers an area of about 3.6 square kilometers (about 1.4 square miles). A large part of this land, about 58%, is used for farming. This means there are fields for crops or places where animals graze.
About 6% of the area is covered by forests. The town itself, with its buildings and roads, takes up about 31% of the land. The remaining small part, about 5%, includes natural features like rivers.
The town is built on both sides of the Glatt River. It includes two main areas: the village of Niederglatt and the village of Nöschikon.
