Niederhasli is a town in Switzerland. It is located in the Dielsdorf area, which is part of the Zürich region. Niederhasli is a municipality, which is like a local government area.

History of Niederhasli
Niederhasli was first mentioned in old records in the year 931. Back then, its name was Hasila.
Sadly, on January 10, 2000, a plane crashed in Niederhasli. The plane had just taken off from Zurich Airport. All 10 people who were on board the plane died in the accident.
Geography of Niederhasli
Niederhasli covers an area of about 11.3 square kilometers (4.4 square miles). A large part of this land, about 58.3%, is used for farming. Forests cover about 21.5% of the area.
About 18.7% of Niederhasli is covered by buildings and roads. The remaining small part, 1.5%, includes things like rivers or mountains.
The town is located in a valley called the lower Glatttal. It is also near the entrance to another valley, the Wehntal. Niederhasli includes a few smaller villages. These are Niederhasli, Oberhasli, Mettmenhasli, and Nassenwil. Before 1840, the village of Niederglatt was also part of Niederhasli. But then, Niederglatt became its own separate town.
People of Niederhasli
Niederhasli has a population of 9,449 people. In 2007, about 22.6% of the people living there were from other countries. Over the past 10 years, the number of people living in Niederhasli has grown by about 18.9%.
Most people in Niederhasli speak German. About 83.9% of the population speaks German. Italian is the second most common language, spoken by 4.7% of the people. Albanian is the third most common, spoken by 2.4%.
In the 2007 election, the most popular political group was the SVP. They received 43.8% of the votes.

Transport in Niederhasli
Niederhasli has its own train station, called Niederhasli railway station. It is part of the Zürich S-Bahn train system, on line S15. You can travel from Niederhasli to Zürich Hauptbahnhof, which is a main train station in Zurich. The train ride takes about 20 minutes.
