Early Life and Education
Nina Shtanski was born in Tiraspol, which was then part of the Moldavian SSR. She studied law at the Transnistrian State University. She has mentioned that her family has Polish roots. In 2012, she completed her Ph.D. by defending her thesis on the "Problems of the conflict in Transnistria/Moldova: International Aspects."
Political Career and Roles
From 2002 to 2009, Nina Shtanski worked at the Supreme Council of Transnistria. During this time, she held several positions, including:

- Assistant to the Chairman of the Supreme Council
- Political Advisor to the Chairman of the Supreme Council
Between 2009 and 2011, she was involved in social and educational activities. She also worked as an adviser to Yevgeny Shevchuk, who was then a deputy in the Supreme Council and leader of the "Renaissance" social movement. She taught at the Institute of History, State and Law at the Transnistrian State University.
Key Government Appointments
After Yevgeny Shevchuk became President of Transnistria on December 30, 2011, Nina Shtanski was appointed as his special representative. Her role was to handle negotiations and work with diplomatic missions and international organizations.
On January 24, 2012, she became the Minister of Foreign Affairs for Transnistria. A week later, on February 1, 2012, she was officially given the role of special representative for negotiations and international relations by presidential decree.
On November 6, 2012, President Yevgeny Shevchuk appointed her as the Deputy Prime Minister for International Cooperation. She held this position while also continuing her role as Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Views on International Relations
Nina Shtanski supported the 2014 annexation of Crimea by the Russian Federation. She also suggested that Russia should consider doing the same with Transnistria. She was a member of the Security Council, which advises the President of Transnistria on important matters.
Personal Life
In September 2015, Nina Shtanski left her government positions. She married Yevgeny Shevchuk, who was the President of Transnistria at the time.
