Nina's Music Journey
Nina Woodford was born in Stockholm, Sweden, on July 13, 1979. Her father was a music producer, and her mother was a social anthropologist. When Nina was 16, she began her music career. She sang backup for Swedish artists like Eric Gadd and Titiyo. She even sang on Britney Spears' album Oops!... I Did It Again. By the time she was 20, Nina had a publishing deal with Murlyn Music in Stockholm. This meant she officially started writing songs for others.
Big Songs and Collaborations
When Nina was 25, she moved to London. There, she co-wrote a very popular song called "Broken Strings". This song was sung by James Morrison and became a number one hit in Europe. It was the biggest song of James Morrison's career.
Nina also helped write the theme song for the 2019 Special Olympics in Abu Dhabi. The song was titled "Right Where I'm Supposed To Be". In 2021, the famous children's show Sesame Street asked Nina to write a song. This song was to honor Juneteenth, a holiday in the United States that celebrates the freedom of African-American slaves. Nina has also written songs for many other well-known artists. These include Leona Lewis, Idina Menzel, Tom Jones, Sugababes, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Christina Milian, The Saturdays, and Jay Sean. Nina has said that the artist Kate Bush inspires her to try new and different things in her music.
Nina's Life
Nina grew up in a part of Stockholm called Södermalm. Today, she lives in Los Angeles, California. She is married to a record producer named Greg Wells. In January 2025, their home was affected by the Palisades Fire.
