The Nine Martyrs of England and Wales were a group of brave people. They included priests and others who were executed in England a long time ago. This happened mostly in 1539, during the time of King Henry VIII. One person was executed later, in 1572. The Roman Catholic Church sees them as martyrs. This means they died for their Christian beliefs. They were later honored as "Blessed" by Pope Leo XIII in 1895.
