Njakinjaki facts for kids
The Njakinjaki (also called Nyaki Nyaki) are an Indigenous group of people. They are part of the larger Noongar community. The Njakinjaki people traditionally lived in the southern parts of Western Australia. This area includes the Wheatbelt and Great Southern regions.
Where the Njakinjaki Lived
The Njakinjaki people's traditional lands covered a large area. It was about 31,000 square kilometers (12,000 square miles). Their country was located east of Lake Grace. It included places like Newdegate, Mount Stirling, Bruce Rock, Kellerberrin, and Merredin.
To the west, their land reached Jitarning. In the south, it went as far as Lake King and Mount Madden. The eastern edge of their territory was near Lake Hope and Mount Holland.
