Nodaway is a small, unincorporated community located in Andrew County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. An unincorporated community means it's a place where people live but it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town.
History of Nodaway
Nodaway was first settled and officially recognized in 1868. The community got its name from the nearby Nodaway River. Rivers often provide important resources, so many early settlements were named after them.
A post office was opened in Nodaway in 1868. This post office was very important for sending and receiving mail. It served the community for many years before it finally closed down in 1957.
