Nodeul Station is a busy train station in Seoul, South Korea. It is part of the Seoul Subway Line 9 system. This station helps thousands of people travel around the city every day. It is located in the Dongjak District of Seoul.
What Does Nodeul Mean?
The name "Nodeul" has a special meaning. Long ago, it meant "the stepping stone where egrets play." Egrets are a type of bird, like herons. Today, "Nodeul" refers to the area near Noryangjin, which is a nearby neighborhood.
Station History
Nodeul Station has an interesting history.
- September 18, 2008: The official name "Nodeul Station" was chosen.
- July 24, 2009: The station officially opened! This was the same day that Seoul Subway Line 9 started running. The line first opened between Gaehwa and Sinnonhyeon stations.
Station Layout
Nodeul Station is built underground. It is designed to help many trains and passengers move smoothly.
Platforms and Tracks
The station has two main side platforms. A platform is where you wait for the train. It also has two tracks, which are the paths the trains run on.
- Upward Platform: If you are going towards Gimpo International Airport or Gaehwa, you will use this platform.
- Downward Platform: If you are heading towards Sinnonhyeon or Sports Complex, you will use this platform.
