Nogo (also known as Mulroy) was once a small town in Greene County, Missouri, in the United States. It was located right on the famous old U.S. Route 66, a historic highway that many people traveled. Today, the area where Nogo used to be is completely inside the city of Strafford.
What Was Nogo?
Nogo wasn't a big city; it was more like a small community or village that existed for a while. It was located in Greene County, which is in the state of Missouri. Imagine a place that was once on maps but now is part of a larger town. That's what happened to Nogo.
How Nogo Got Its Name
The story behind Nogo's name is quite interesting! When people were trying to decide what to call the new settlement, they had a really tough time agreeing on a name. It seemed like every idea they had was a "no-go," meaning it wouldn't work out. Eventually, someone made a comment about it being "a no-go" situation. This funny phrase stuck, and that's how the town ended up being called Nogo!
